Toilets Are SO Inconvenient

My neighbor thinks NT is so funny. Which is a relief to me because with some of the things that NT thinks of doing (or doesn't think, just does), one could easily assume that the boy has no supervision or guidance. And I promise he does, he is just very good at getting ahead of me! But my neighbor was once a small boy and now has one of his own, so I assume that he understands the nature of boys which is why he is amused rather than disgusted at my lack of parenting.

But we occasionally have an incident like the one that happened a few weeks ago. SP was at school and I was heading out to run a few errands. NT thought I was too slow and ran to the parking lot ahead of me. I still had to grab my purse and sunglasses, maybe use the bathroom. As I headed out the door, I could see NT standing in the open driver's side door of the truck talking to our neighbor who was in his car getting ready to leave as well. My neighbor's car was in front of the truck so I could only see NT's head and shoulders. As the neighbor drove away, he gave me an odd look as I waved. I wasn't quite sure how to interpret it but then his car moved enough for me to see that NT's pants were around his ankles as he peed out the door of the truck and I realized that it must have been some sort of mixture of humor and "don't pee on my car!"

It would have been so inconvenient to walk back to the house to use an actual toilet. It was nearly as bad as when he peed out the window. I had hoped that we were out of the public peeing stage, but it appears that he had at least one more episode left in him. So when Sillya is exasperated at my sweet nephew for his new peeing antics, I sympathize and giggle.

Missed Opportunity!

UPDATED!!!

As I was writing out my last post, I looked out the window to see the snowplow driver taking a potty-break next to his snow-plow. I didn't realize what he was doing quick enough so I didn't get my camera out for a picture. So I don't have that to share.

Sorry.

UPDATE: I went out and got a picture of the aftermath. At least that one spot is clear of snow. Enjoy!

Because You Want to Look

Because I am so smirt and just figured out how to post pictures (with a little help from friends, Thanks, Alexis!), here is a picture of the most ridiculously cute boys I know. Don't try to convince me they aren't.

Incomplete Process Analysis

Do any of you have a salad spinner? I love mine. So nice for getting all the excess water off the lettuce and other vegetables. I had some grapes the other day and used it for washing them. As I was spinning them dry, I took the lid off when it started to slow down. NT loved it, he thought it was so cool watching the grapes spin slowly around and settle back to the bottom of the bowl. But since it was almost done, it didn't last very long. Being the indulgent mom that I am, I decided to spin it up for him again. Only this time, I would take the lid off sooner so that he could watch it go 'round and 'round for a bit longer. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a flaw in my planning. I did not account for the centrifugal force at the higher rate of speed as I took the lid off. NT did have fun finding all the grapes in all the various corners of the kitchen though!

Habitually Unemployed Crackheads

We have recently had a bit of bad luck with employment. My husband worked for a horse trailer company when he was laid off and went back to treadmill company where he has worked off and on for the last 12 years. Then he got hired on as plant manager for a company building a new style of airplane. After about a year, they closed up shop and filed bankruptcy and it was back to the treadmill company again. In addition, he works one day a week at his other home (the golf course) so that he can golf for free and have an excuse to spend one more day a week there. So he has had a variety of jobs.

Anyhoo, after the closing of the airplane place, I was a bit stressed about money - but not overly because through it all, we seem to land on our feet. As luck would have it, I had to buy a gift for a birthday or wedding or baby shower or something. I also had to pick up a few other household items. Since the budget was a little tight, I was complaining a little as we shopped about "all this crap we were buying." At the checkout, SP (my oldest boy) starts talking about these toy plastic golf clubs they have on display. The cashier politely asks if he likes golf and he proceeds to tell her everything he knows. He has a lot to say sometimes! So anyway - he's going on about how "Daddy works at the golf course and he used to build horse trailers and then he built treadmills and then he built airplanes but he lost that job and now he's building treadmills again and we just keep buying crap!" Only when he says it, it comes out as crack.

Should I worry about whether or not they have a file on me at that store and a copy of the security tape with my slightly crazed trip through the store while attempting to keep two high energy boys from grabbing everything within arm's reach and putting it in the cart? After seeing that tape, would anyone believe I wasn't on crack?
